Background
I am an assistant professor at Georgia Southern University where I teach in the Instructional Technology program, a part of the College of Education's Department of Leadership, Technology & Human Development. Here at Georgia Southern, I teach courses in instructional technology and school library media to graduate students. All of courses in the Instructional Technology program are fully online. Therefore, I have amazing opportunities to push the boundaries of how we define teaching & learning, play on the cloud, and spend plenty of time at K-12 schools.
My research interests include Web 2.0 in K-12, ethical research in K-12 settings, case-based learning, online collaborative partnerships and the evolving role of school library media centers. On this website I am constantly adding links to resources and articles that address these issues. I am a former secondary choir director, reading teacher and school library media specialist, having taught in Texas for almost ten years. So in addition to all of the academia, you will find plenty of odds and ends about music, young adult lit., and pop culture.
